Corporate bootcamps: aligning vocabulary with application owners
Yuri Ahn · 2025-10-05
Corporate bootcamps at Basis Beacon Korea start with a ninety-minute glossary workshop. Teams bring their internal names for clients, routes, and maintenance windows. We map them to neutral Basis terms used in our labs.
The exercise is tedious and worth it. Misaligned vocabulary caused more rollback votes in past cohorts than any technical gap. Facilitators capture terms on a whiteboard photograph (allowed internally by the client) and we never keep those photos after class.
We share a blank glossary template under Resources verbally during class; employers rebrand it. The template has columns for term, owner, risk level, and last review date.
Bootcamps still require technical depth later in the week. Without shared words, depth arrives too late.
