Overview

You rehearse production-like policy changes in isolated labs, document rollback steps, and compare outcomes against a reference architecture. Sessions emphasize why a policy behaves a certain way under convergence pressure, not memorized knob lists.

What is included

  • Dual-homed enterprise edge with selective prepending
  • Community design worksheet you keep after the cohort
  • Mentor office hours on your written change plan
  • Packet capture walkthroughs for path flaps
  • Quality standards checklist for change windows
  • Baseline documentation template for handovers
  • Peer review of your final lab report

Outcomes

  1. Produce a defensible BGP change packet for stakeholders
  2. Trace a path decision from RIB to FIB with evidence
  3. Prioritize convergence risks before touching production

Participant notes

“The BGP Policy Lab Intensive forced me to write rollback steps before touching configs—something my team never enforced. Week four’s community redesign exercise finally made MED vs LP rules click.”

“Mentor notes on my prepending plan were blunt in a useful way. I still wish there were one more async review slot, but the templates are excellent.”
