OSPF and EIGRP
OSPF Multi-Area Operations Studio
Area design, summarization trade-offs, and troubleshooting LSA storms with structured timelines and mentor critique.
Overview
Each module pairs a short design brief with hands-on work: you adjust area boundaries, observe SPF triggers, and narrate what changed. The goal is operational clarity when scaling campus cores.
What is included
- LSA type reference you annotate during labs
- Stub/NSSA decision matrix with real constraints
- Troubleshooting scripts for common SPF loops
- Activity log template for change history
- Mentor critique on two written postmortems
- Optional WAN failure injection scenarios
- Peer triage drills with rotating scribe roles
Outcomes
- Defend an area plan against summarization pitfalls
- Isolate an OSPF instability without guessing
- Hand off readable documentation to an on-call teammate

FAQ
Do you cover EIGRP?
This studio is OSPF-first. We reference EIGRP only where enterprises run both; a separate EIGRP sprint exists in the catalog.
Are recordings available?
Yes, within 48 hours of each session for 90 days.
What baseline knowledge is expected?
You should already configure single-area OSPF and read LSDB output without guidance. We move quickly into multi-area edge cases.
Participant notes
“OSPF Multi-Area Operations Studio’s LSA storm lab mirrored an incident we saw last winter. The activity log template is now part of our runbooks.”
